Be Afraid,Be Very Afraid!

The kind of reaction we wanted from our audience was for them to be almost at the edge of their seats by the time our video came to an end. It is very much like a thriller music video with a sexy twist! With the various effects, camera angles and lighting it really adds a scary element to it. Along with the fantastic and very convincing costumes, dont be surprised if you find yourself hiding between your fingers ! My group andI also wanted the audience to feel as though they were in the mental institution with the character to almost at times have sympathy for her as the music video progresses. The use of extreme and medium close ups involves the audience and i believe it becomes more than just a crazy girl losing her mind, it becomes more personal and intimate.

Behind The Scenes: Photographs.

On the left is Mariam wearing the white is Mariam who is the character of the 'Angel'. I'm in the middle playing the main girl and On the right in red is Justine playing the 'devil'.
This is another random photo taken in the editing suite just before we started shooting for one of our scenes.

Think Disturbia!

In terms of locations for our music video we wanted it to be somewhere secluded, isolated and away from the norms and sterotypes that are attached to society. what better place to choose then a mental institution! It would be very dark and dirty emphasising the abandonment of the place. My group and I wanted the area to look very chaotic, with chairs thrown about, broken tables and random items dashed on the ground. This would affect the mental stability of the main character and the fact that her mind is never in one exact place. The environment will reflect the persona's feelings and emotions.

Ring the Alarm!

Beyonce can be seen as one of the most influential Artists of our generation, so you know we had to find a way to incorporate her into our music video! She inevitably a force to be reckoned with and anything she touches virtually turns to gold. she is a very successful R"n" B solo artist who has gone to sell millions worldwide and has made a meteoric rise with her acting career starring in films such as "Dreamgirls" and taking on the lead role as Etta James in the film Cadillac Records.
The main artist we were influence by was Rihanna. However i felt it was important to include Beyonce as she was a major influence with our new improved idea. Her body language and facial expressions were over exaggerated in her amazing video "Ring the Alarm". The entire video is based on the film"Basic Instinct." This was inspiring for our group and something we definitely took away from the video. Moreover the fact that she is locked up in an institution which is where our persona is first seen and the kind of location we were looking for in order to portray that dark, eerie feeling.
Beyonce is fierce and dangerously sexy in this video. Our performer must convey this attitude! Our main star which was Wahiba also wore a white plain shirt playing a very ditressed and deluded character, which is very simliar to the second image on top where Beyonce looks very distant.

VIVA LA RIRI

For our video we have decided to go towards the dark approach when filming. Such as in 'Disturbia' and 'Ring the Alarm'.
We want the 'dark and gloomy' effect throughout the music video with a lot of fast paced cuts and lots of crazy things happening whilst telling the story of the girl. We all agreed upon this because there is something about darkness that captures peoples attention. Our song is very tense so this would fit perfect. The clothes of the character will also reflect this and be very chic Gothic and highly inspired by current runway looks like: Leather, Blacks and purples, Studs, Bright Lipstick, biker boots etc.

I lick the gun when I’m done
‘Cause I know revenge is sweet, so sweet
This is a gang.
Ladies bang, baby, bang.
Tell me what you need? Ohh…

Any motherfucker wanna disrespect
Playin’ with fire funna get you wet
How it feel down there on your knees?
Got these girls like a soilder, trippin’, it’s goin down, down, down

I’m ready to roll
Girl, I’m with you
If they get you they get me
Come on! Let’s go!
Bitch, I’m with you
If you with, if you with me

[Chorus:]
You know I’m down
I’m down for life…loaded, reloaded
Let’s go!
Gangsta life…’til the day that I die
Yeah, I promise I’ll stand in high
You know that I’m there, you know we down
Gangsta for life…

We drivin’ by with them headlights off
We know where you stay
Know what you did
We don’t play that shit
Nigga, we don’t play, no…

Everybody quiet when you did your dirt
Actin’ like a Bitch funna get you hurt
[ Rihanna Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
Break your life down to the knees, oh
I got these girls like a soilder, trippin’, it’s going down, down, down
I’m ready to roll
Girl, I’m with you
If they get you they get me
Come on! Let’s go!
Bitch, I’m with you
If he whip you he whip me

[Repeat Chorus:]

Come on we ain’t done yet
Got a lot to handle
We ain’t take over the world yet
Boom!
We a army
Better yet a navy
Better yet crazy
Guns in the air
Guns in the air
Guns in the air

Can’t hurt us again when you come around here
We got our guns, got our guns, got our guns, got our guns
We got our guns in the motherfucking air, ohh

I’m down for life
Gangsta for life
I’m down for life
Gangsta for life

[Repeat Chorus:]

I lick the gun when I’m down
‘Cause I know revenge is sweet

.Good .V. Evil.

Our new song has a much darker feel to it, and our theme matches this.
Wahiba will be playing a character being torn apart by her conscience. She has both the good and evil trying to make her come to their side. Mariam is going to play 'good' and I shall play 'evil'. In the end we shall show that she has gone 'to the dark side!'

NEW SONG: Rihanna - G4L

KA-BOOM...

This will come as a surprise but we as a group have decided to change our song and entire idea. We're moving away from our original idea to use Kid Cudi's Maui Wowie' as it was not working out. We tried our best to make it work but we just didn't feel it, and we felt that we were capable of doing something much better therefore were back to square one and with a new song and a new artist.
